Background

Street culture varies in different parts of the world. But the thing all street culture has in common is the love for sneakers. Sneakers have become the basis on which most street cultures build their fashion identity.

Annually, since 15 years ago, the Sneakermeet day party has taken place in Stockholm, Sweden. Here, passionate sneaker lovers and collectors from all walks of life and genres gather to buy, sell or trade the coolest sneakers in the world.

Dedicated soles (pun intended)

The team organizing this amazing sneaker event are all passionate veterans of the fashion and lifestyle industry. Together with the club and event producer TRÄDGÅRDEN in Skanstull, Stockholm, they deliver an event of the highest quality to the sneaker community.

Together, the organizers Charly, Richard, Per and Andrew have a background where sneakers have strongly influenced their lives. Per was previously a partner in Caliroots and has also worked at SNS, Nollåtta and New Sports, a long experience with sneakers and streetwear. As a skateboarder, Charly was introduced to sneakers and worked for a long time in sales at Caliroots, but has now switched to Nike. Charly sits on a hard-to-match bank of knowledge about sneakers. Andrew was already a young basketball player vigorous with his interest in sneakers. He talks about trips to New York in the early 90s to visit the then best sneaker stores such as Dr. Jays, Foot Action, Foot Locker. Richard got his first dose of sneakers when his older brother brought home a pair of Air Jordan 5 Black Metallic in 1991. Right then he was hooked and has been traveling the world in search of sneakers in cities like Tokyo, New York and Berlin.

Tradition

Sneakermeet is dedicated to a tradition that has been going on for a long time. Namely the Sneaker Swap Meet. For about 15 years, sneaker lovers from all over Sweden have been invited to buy, sell or just socialize with like-minded people for a day at something that can be described as a flea market for street fashion.
